Pre-pregnancy Counseling & check-ups

Pre-pregnancy counselling is offered to couples who wish to become pregnant. Regular check-ups are carried to ensure that the couple desiring to conceive are healthy and fit for pregnancy especially older women.Appropriate Pre pregnancy vaccination will be given like Rubella , varicella & HPV if they are not immune .Few blood investigations should be performed for the couple .

Dealing with high risk pregnancies

High risk pregnancy is when there are potential complications during the period of pregnancy that could affect either the mother or the baby, or both. Various causal factors are taken into consideration for high-risk pregnancies such as maternal age, pre-existing medical conditions or diseases, medical conditions or diseases that occur during the period of pregnancy, premature labour, multiple births, small for dates babies ,placenta previa, and/or any other fetal problems. Specialized care and close monitoring are provided by our multi-disciplinary team to ensure that both mother and baby are kept healthy, enabling them to complete the entire period of pregnancy, labour and child birth.

Recurrent Pregnancy loss

Recurrent Pregnancy loss is when the woman has had three consecutive pregnancy losses prior to 20 weeks from the last menstrual period. Various tests and examinations including detailed familial, medical, surgical, diseases and genetic histories are conducted to understand what the causal factors are.

Routine Antenatal Care
Transabdonminal Cerclage (TAC)

Routine Antenatal Care is one the most fundamental intervention in addressing for every pregnant women. The patient is closely and frequently monitored to ensure that all vitals of mother and fetus are maintained normal. Routine antenatal care allows for the medical team to address any red flags immediately as and when required so as to ensure that the pregnancy is saved and continues on to full-term.

Transabdonminal Cerclage (TAC) is one the very specialized procedures conducted to help manage recurrent pregnancy loss. In this technique, a tied loop known as cervical cerclage is inserted into the vagina, high on the cervix through an incision in the abdomen near the bikini line. This band prevents the cervix from opening and subsequently prevents the loss of a pregnancy. TAC procedure offers a success rate as high as 99%. However, as with all procedures, this too carries some risks.

Endometrial biopsy

Endometrial biopsy is performed at the clinic. This is a procedure which involves removal of a small piece of tissue from the uterus lining to examine and identify cell changes. These cell changes could be due to abnormal tissues or variations in hormone levels. This procedure enables diagnoses of certain pre cancerous and cancerous condition in women.

Laparoscopic & Hysteroscopic surgeries

Laparoscopy is the procedure wherein the surgeon is able to take a look inside the pelvis – fallopian tubes, ovaries and uterus by inserting the laparoscope through the naval. Hysteroscopy is the procedure wherein the surgeon is able to take a look inside the uterus by inserting a small telescope through the vagina and cervix. Both procedures are performed under general anesthesia. These procedures allow the doctor to get a view of the organs inside which is helpful in understanding various conditions such as unexplained infertility, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts and tumors, ectopic pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory diseases, etc., as well as to treat various conditions.

The insufflated CO2 gas lifts the abdominal wall to
provide enough space for safe positioning of the surgical instruments.

Highly complicated laparoscopic surgeries can be handled, including, Myomectomy in which fibroids are removed from the walls of the uterus, Total laparoscopic hysterectomy in which both the uterus and cervix are removed through a keyhole surgery and correction of endometriosis in which the cysts are removed laparoscopically & maitaining tubo ovarian realtion ship . Also dealing with rectovaginal endometriosis.

Endoscopic surgery

Endoscopic surgery is other wise called key hole surgery . It is done mostly as day care procedure . Hysterectomies , removal of the fibroids & ovarian cysts are being done laparoscopically. Few of the cancer surgeries are also done laparoscopically

Treatment of Infertility

Tretment of infertility can be done with simple measures like using the medication to induce ovulation and do regular monitoting , Intra uterine insemination if there is a male factor or unsuccessful ovulation induction . Assisted Reproductive techniques like IVF / ICSI procedures / assisted hatching / pre implantation diagnosis are the advanced procedures .

Few surgical procedures done laparoscopically for endometriosis , fibroids and for pelvic inflammatory disease to restore the anatomy . Tubal recannulization , tubo tubal anastomosis , fimbrioplasty are few tubal surgeries done to get pregnancies .

Follicular Tracking & Timed Relationship

Follicular tracking is the process in which the ovaries are scanned regularly during your menstrual cycle and follicles are observed as they increase in size. It assesses the ovarian follicles at regular intervals and documents its pathway to ovulation. It can be by medication or spontaneously.Once the pattern is documented, the couple is advised to come together particularly during those specific phases of the woman’s menstrual cycle, giving it a higher chance of conception.

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

IUI is one of the first steps in ART procedure. This intervention is utilized in patients mild male factor , men with ejaculatory dysfunction ,women who have ovulated and not conceived , unexplained infertility .

In this treatment method, sperm is collected, prepared and inserted through a catheter into the uterus of the female. While only the insertion of the sperm is done through this process. This process is sometimes coupled with stimulation medication to increase the chance of pregnancy.

Invitro Fertilization (IVF)

IVF is the process by which controlled ovarian stimulation is performed & the eggs are collected after maturation process under USS guidance. The sperm and the egg are fertilzed in vitro conditions . Once the embryo dvelops , two embryos are replaced on day 3 or day 5 after egg collection. Intra cytoplasmic sperm injection will improve the fertilization rates .

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

ICSI is the method whereby the sperm is injected directly into the egg for fertilization. This method has shown results natural fertilization for 70-85% of the eggs injected with the sperm.

Assisted Hatching

Assisted hatching is the method the outer shell of the egg is slightly thinned to aid implantation of the embryo in the uterus. This is done because in some cases, particularly in older women, this outer layer is found to be thicker thereby blocking the embryo from hatching out.

Pre-genetic Screening & Diagnosis (PGD)

PGS & PGD is the method wherein the embryos are genetically screened prior to implantation. It allows to avoid selective abortion by ensuring that the embryo is genetically healthy and free of any diseases.

Physiological ICSI (PICSI) Treatment

PICSI is the method wherein healthy, functional sperm is identified for injecting into the mature egg. This improves the chances of fertilization and reduces risks of miscarriage

Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)

FET is the method wherein the embryo is thawed, cultured and transferred into the recipient’s uterus. In this method, the female does not undergo the phases of ovulation induction and egg retrieval. The uterine receptivity is the only aspect which is closely monitored to ensure its readiness to receive the embryo.

TESE & PESA

TESE(Testicular Sperm Extraction) and PESA(Percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration) method is one in which sperms are extracted from the epididymis (where sperms are stored) or testicles (where sperms are produced) and injected into the mature egg. This method helps even those couples with very low sperm count to conceive.

Donor

Sometimes women need another woman to donate their eggs in order to conceive. The egg is received from donors who are less than 30 years of age and already have children of their own, which ensures that the donated egg is capable of fertilization. The donor is screened extensively to ensure there are no infections or diseases. Sometimes, effort is taken to match physical characteristics as closely as possible.

Cryopreservation (Freezing)

Cryopreservation is the method wherein the embryos are frozen and stored for future use. Freezing of embryos gives the couple the chance to try again after failed attempts of IVF. It is also a way in which the couple can undergo any medical treatment such as chemotherapy and attempt to conceive after that. In most cases, when couples go for their first treatment cycle, not more than 2 embryos are implanted into the uterus and the other embryos are frozen for future use if necessary. In the same way, eggs and sperms too are frozen and stored for future use.
